Walk to cold water springs that create a small oasis of flowers in summer - Soda Springs
This is an easy 6km 2 hour return walk that follows the Tongariro Crossing track and passes Mangatepopo Hut. The track end can also be the starting place for the
Tongariro Northern Circuit, a 3 - 4 day alpine loop.
Note, there is a 4-hour parking restriction at the Mangatepopo road end throughout the Great Walk season. Visit the Tongariro National Park Visitor Centre for a free parking permit or have your booking ticket available for the traffic management team to sight.
